Rameshwar Broota

He attended the Delhi Polytechnic College of Art from 1960–64. An artist interested in commenting on existing times, his work in their formative stage depicted a young painter’s anguish at the inequality and imbalances that led to all kinds of suffering in the society around him. Broota has a simple ideology guiding him through his career, which is based on humanism. He speaks of his work with undiluted simplicity even as he locates himself firmly within the ordinariness of the vast Indian middle class.
